About the author
Director-Producer, Professor and Mentor, Daniele J Suissa was born in Casablanca which she left in 1952.
After an extensive international career in theater film and TV, she has since 1998, dedicated most of her time to the sharing of everything she has learned.
Teaching started in Canada at the CANADIAN FILM CENTER where she first experienced the transmission of her technique. Then, in the USA, Daniele taught at UCLA, AFI, and The Los Angeles Film School (Dean of LAFS May 2001- December 2002).
In 2003 she founded the ACADEMY OF CONVERGING ARTS in Hollywood and soon after moved as senior lecturer at USC.
In 2008, for USC, she was one of the founding professors of RSICA (Red Sea Institute of Cinematic Arts) in Jordan. Named Professor Emerita of that institution she finally returned to Morocco in 2011.
Since then she has been lecturing at l ’ ESAVM and most Moroccan film schools. In 2019, with Filmakademie Baden- Württemberg Daniele has conducted in Abu Dhabi a series of 8 master classes and was senior lecturer and creative producer of the TV writing program: Episode 1 with Kasbah Films. For Kasbah Films she script doctored the film "Ma vie me va bien"
Daniele published THE DJS TECHNIQUE in 2021 with the support of the CCM (Moroccan Film Center) and a preface from its president Sarim Fassi Fihri.
During all her teaching years and in every country where she has been, Daniele ran and continues to weekly run the DJS Director Studio of continuous studies for professionals in the cinematic arts.
